Since Slovaks have the habit of letting their savings lie to no avail on current and savings accounts, they are giving up the possibility of earning hundreds or even thousands of euro. In the first ten months of this year, the bank deposits of Slovak clients grew by less than 0.3% p.a. After calculating this year’s inflation, the real earnings on their deposits thus shifted to red figures, approximately -1.8% to be precise. The same happened last year, when the value of deposits was at minus 1% due to inflation. In other words, savers are basically losing money on their savings.
Despite this development, Slovaks tend to be very conservative when evaluating their savings, which is also confirmed by the development of bank deposits. Since the beginning of the year, bank deposits have grown by another €1.3 billion, and as of October 31 natural persons held almost €35.4 billion on their accounts.
Evaluation by 5 to 7% per annum
Nevertheless, one can manage his or her assets with much higher efficiency. Just take Western Europe for inspiration, where a major portion of the population utilises investments to achieve longer-term appreciation of the value of their assets. Within the framework of highly specialised financial services that Across Private Investments offers its clients in Slovakia, it is currently possible, say, by investing into bonds, to increase the value of your savings by 5 to 7% per year. Revenues are paid our annually, or possibly, at the end of a 4- or 5-year period.
Across distributes a number of bonds designed to finance its own or external projects. Clients can thus participate in the financing of real estate development projects implemented by Lucron, the property developer in Bratislava and Trnava. The most interesting and promising projects include Malé Krasňany, Urban Residence, Arboria I. and Kopčianska Juh. Lucron is a member of an international development group and the third largest real estate developer in Slovakia. Strong growth enables the company to open itself to clients for the first time and enables them to participate in the financing of modern residential property projects. In the coming months, Lucron has in the pipeline several more urban residential property projects with modern architecture and attractive public spaces, which will either follow-up on the previous development or will come as brand-new multi-purpose real estate developments, predominantly in the most attractive locations of the capital, such as the Vydrica project placed in the highly prestigious location under Bratislava castle. By 2019, the combined net residential floor area of all developments completed by Lucron will amount to almost 120 thousand square meters.
Except for residential property, Across enables its clients to participate via bond purchase in the further development of the well-known and sought-after hotels, such as Sliezsky dom in the High Tatras and Salamandra near Banská Štiavnica. Bonds with annual revenue of up to 7% are a novelty product enabling clients to co-finance projects in global asset management in the sphere of infrastructure projects and development capital.
